Reflection of Research Proposal

There were many problems when creating a proposal for my research paper. I was scared at first because I did not have anything in my mind to write about. Most of the topics I thought about where not good to research about, they were just merely arguments. I went to my tutor as usual to ask her for help. She helped me by first making an outline of all the topics I wanted to talk about. I made the outline with three subjects in mind. The three were tv, gun control, and asthma. She told me to just think of something basic before I go in and research. We then researched all of the topics that are discussed about, try to see what we can find. Asthma was a no go, it was mainly medical articles that were not good for an essay. I then went on to check tv, and I did find an abundance of articles that talks about society's views of politics. This interested me, but I had to keep my mind open until the end. I then researched about gun control, and seeing all the articles about mass shootings and the history of the laws behind gun control, which made me choose that topic.

As I went on to writing the proposal, I still did not have anything in my mind that I wanted to write about, which made me do the research again. After looking at all the mass shooting articles that was on the databases, I finally figured out what I wanted to write about. It would talk about the importance of gun control, showing both the good and bad sides of it, and the history that started it all. There are many arguments that need to be discussed about when writing the essay, but they would all have a section each. I was confident, and wrote the proposal.
